De las primeras investigaciones centradas en profesionales de ayuda se ha pasado al estudio del burnout en otros profesionales. Por otro lado, la preocupación de las universidades por ofrecer una enseñanza de calidad supone considerar todas las variables implicadas en el proceso enseñanza-aprendizaje y el bienestar de los estudiantes es un elemento clave en este proceso. En este contexto, el objetivo del presente trabajo se centra en el estudio del burnout en estudiantes universitarios de España y Portugal. Al mismo tiempo el burnout se muestra como predictores del desempeño, las expectativas de éxito y la tendencia al abandono. Palavras clave: Burnout, Estudiantes universitarios, Desempeño académico. ABSTRACT Recently we witnessed the enlargement of burnout field of study: from an initial focus in human service professionals to a growing interest for other professional and pre-professional activities. In this context, the objective of the present paper is to analyse burnout in university students and to study its relationships with demographic variables, academic performance, expectations of success and withdrawal. Results revealed significant differences in burnout levels between femeal and male university students.

Palavras-chave: Turismo sexual; Intimidades transnacionais; Trópicos globais Abstract The text provides a brief global mapping of the tropical destinations where the sun and beach mass tourism is connected with the constitution of intimate transnational relationships. Considering the touristic experiences and the intimacy configurations that emerge there, the main objective of the reflection is to question the pertinence of the sex tourism notion as hegemonic concept in almost all exercises of analysis and conceptualization of these contexts. Although recognizing the presence of strong passional expectations linked to the touristic mobility for many destinations of the global tropical belt, a critical distance to the idea of sex tourism is established. The aim is to show that this designation is entangled in stereotypes, denotes a great epistemological inconsistency and is deeply reductive, unable to translate the complexity and the dynamics underlying the framework of expectations, practices and relationships that constitute the transnational intimate meetings between visitors and locals. The study was composed by a sample of mothers having a heterosexual intimate relationship and with at least one child under 18 years from the current marital relationship. The results give initial support to the psychometric quality of the Portuguese version of CRS.
